LMU Named to Phi Theta Kappa’s 2026 Transfer Honor Roll

Loyola Marymount University has been named to Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society's Transfer Honor Roll for the 11th consecutive year, earning national recognition for its commitment to supporting community college transfer students and helping them succeed on the path to a bachelor's degree.

LMU is among 275 four-year colleges and universities to earn the honor in 2026 as one of the country's most transfer-friendly colleges.

"Transfer students strengthen LMU through the experiences, perspectives, and momentum they bring to our community," said Gicel Martell de Zardeneta, director of Transfer Admission and Enrollment Services. "Their success reflects the work of colleagues across the university who help them navigate the transfer process, build connections, and make progress toward their degrees. Eleven consecutive years on the Honor Roll affirms that transfer student success is a shared priority at LMU."

The Honor Roll evaluates how well institutions support transfer students from admission through graduation, taking into account five measures of success:

• Transfer student success outcomes
• Credit mobility and degree applicability
• Financial support for transfer students
• Recruitment and admissions practices
• Campus engagement and support for transfer students.

More than 1,100 colleges and universities completed Phi Theta Kappa's institutional profile process this year. The Honor Roll recognizes the top-performing institutions based on this evaluation.

"Successful transfer happens when institutions intentionally design policies, practices, and campus cultures that help students thrive after they arrive. These colleges have demonstrated that transfer student success is not accidental. It is a strategic priority."

Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges and helping them to grow as scholars and leaders. The society is made up of more than 4.5 million members and nearly 1,200 chapters in 11 countries.
