Traffic-Parking Advisory: Preparing for a Possible LIRR Strike

As you may have seen in recent news reports, the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) has entered into a potential strike period. While negotiations are ongoing, Adelphi University's Department of Public Safety and Transportation wants to ensure our students, faculty and staff are prepared for all potential outcomes, including a possible service disruption on or after September 18.

At this time, no strike has been announced, but we are taking proactive steps to minimize potential disruptions to campus operations and academic activities. Our department is collaborating with campus and local partners to review and plan for alternative transportation options.
