Spring Fling for Shelter Pets Brings Hampton Roads Animal Advocates Together


Seasonal event to feature adoptable animals, local shelters and community connections

NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk Animal Care Center (NACC) invites pet and animal lovers to come together for an afternoon of wagging tails, community connections and adoptable pets at the Shelter Spring Fling. This heartwarming event will take place on Saturday, May 17, from noon to 4 p.m., at Afterglow Brewing (2330 Bowdens Ferry Rd., Suite 600).

Nearly a dozen local animal shelters and rescues from across Hampton Roads will be on hand to share resources, promote pet adoption and celebrate the amazing bond between humans and pets. Attendees can meet adoptable pets, learn about volunteer and foster opportunities and connect with fellow animal advocates in the community.

  • Virginia Beach Animal Care & Adoption Center
  • Chesapeake Humane Society
  • Chesapeake Animal Services
  • PETA
  • Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society

  • Suffolk Humane Society
  • Reba's Animal Rescue & Adoption Center


The Shelter Spring Fling is family-friendly and open to all. There will be live music and food available for purchase from the Mockingbird Pasta Bar.
