Severe Weather Preparedness

As we approach the warm, spring months, fluctuating weather conditions can become more common. Severe Weather Awareness Week is Sunday, March 15 through Saturday, March 21, which is a great time to review safety guidelines for various types of weather conditions. Franklin County Emergency Management & Homeland Security (FCEM&HS) will implement the annual statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, March 18 at 9:50 a.m. The five-minute drill presents an opportunity for community members to prepare for tornadoes, which are considered a top weather-related risk in central Ohio, according to FCEM&HS.

In addition to tornadoes, thunder and lightning, high winds, heavy rain fall and flooding can be cause for concern during the spring. It is critical to have a solid plan in place to keep and your loved ones safe for various for scenarios. Visit the following websites to get started:
