On November 25, the Korea Enterprises Federation (KEF) released the results of its 'Survey on the MOEL's Comprehensive Labor Safety Measures,' conducted on 262 Korean enterprises.<_o3a_p>
Out of the 222 respondents that said they were aware of the 'Comprehensive Labor Safety Measures' announced by the MOEL on September 15, 73% (162 enterprises) said "it would not help" prevent serious accidents, while 27% (60 enterprises) said "it would help."<_o3a_p>

The most cited reason for considering the measures would not be helpful was that they focused more on post-accident punishment than prevention (57%, 92 enterprises).' For those who viewed the measures as helpful, the top reason was that they may lead to 'greater corporate investment in safety (30%, 18 enterprises).'

When asked which OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) policy the government should pursue as top priority, the most common responses were 'shifting supervisory policies from punishment to guidance and support (44%)' and 'expanding workers' responsibility for OSH (37%).'<_o3a_p>
