RTA announces ‘Art on the Move’ student winners

(DAYTON, OHIO) -The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (RTA) has selected the winners of its inaugural "Art on the Move" contest.

The program invited students in grades K-12 to create original bus designs inspired by one of four themes: safety, environment, community and friendship. RTA will turn these winning designs into full-size wraps on buses traveling along fixed-route service in Montgomery County.

The first bus made its debut in the Art in the City kickoff event on Aug. 1. Additional winning designs will be unveiled one at a time between now and the spring of 2027.

Art on the Move winners include:

  • Liana, 17, Springboro High School

  • Anaweza, 9, St. Bendict the Moor Catholic School

  • Bridget, 8, St. Benedict the Moor Catholic School

  • Catie, 17, Miami Valley Career Technology Center

  • Henry, 8, Main Elementary

  • Marie, 17, Beavercreek High School

  • Dieme, 8, St. Benedict the Moor Catholic School

  • Mary, 11, Harman Elementary

As each bus is unveiled, RTA will highlight the student artists and their winning designs through photos, videos and social media content. Follow the Greater Dayton RTA on Facebook and Instagram page at iriderta.
