Census Bureau Releases OnTheMap Update with More LODES Employment Data

NOV. 5, 2026 - The U.S. Census Bureau today released updated versions of the Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics (LEHD) Origin-Destination Employment Statistics (LODES) data product and the OnTheMap application.

The new LODES 8.5 tabulations include 2024 data. OnTheMap and LODES now contain employment data from 2002 through 2024 for most states - exceptions include data for Alaska and Michigan for 2024.

OnTheMap is a web-based mapping tool that tracks where workers live and work. It is supported by state partners through the Local Employment Dynamics (LED) partnership with the Census Bureau.
