IN THE NEWS: FDA Orders to Remove Red Dye 3 From Food and Drink

The FDA has issued a ban on using Red Dye No. 3 as an ingredient in food and drinks in the U.S. This ban doesn't take effect until "January 15, 2027, or January 15, 2028, respectively," as stated in the constituent update on the FDA's website. Wasif Saif, M.D., MBBS, medical oncologist, leader of the Phase I Clinical Trials Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), and co-leader of the Gastrointestinal and Neuroendocrine Oncology MDT, gave some tips on how you can try to avoid this ingredient in your food and drinks until the ban takes place.
