Fu Hua, President of Xinhua News Agency, Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland, and Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, attended and addressed the event.
President Fu Hua said in his remarks that as we meet at a moment of profound changes, China has developed her own approaches to navigate these changes, and we are ready to share them through dialogues with the world. China's Governance under Xi Jinping's Leadership offers, through the words and lenses of Xinhua reporters, President Xi Jinping's remarkable thinking, extraordinary practice, and outstanding achievements in governance.
Ambassador Jia Guide noted that reemerging unilateralism, protectionism, and hegemony have strained the multilateral order and brought global governance to a new crossroads. President Xi Jinping proposed the Global Governance Initiative (GGI), offering China's solution to strengthening international order and global governance. The GGI has already received support from over 150 countries and organizations. China stands ready to strengthen coordination and communication with all sides to promote a more just and equitable global governance system.
Director-General Tatiana Valovaya welcome the GGI proposed by President Xi Jinping and China's contributions aimed at strengthening multilateralism. She called for an updated system of international cooperation that is fairer, more inclusive, and more effective.
During the seminar, permanent representatives, heads of international organizations, scholars and business leaders engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics such as multilateral coordination, systemic action, and enhancing synergy among the Global South. The event also featured the release of a report by the Xinhua Institute.
