Telephone conversation with President El-Sisi of Egypt

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, on the occasion of Egypt's National Day.

The two leaders reviewed several aspects of bilateral relations at the political and economic level and as part of the activities under the Mattei Plan, with particular regard to the technical and vocational training sector. They also discussed their joint efforts to counter irregular migration.

Lastly, in light of the difficult regional context, the two leaders agreed to remain in close contact with the aim of supporting the search for sustainable diplomatic solutions able to guarantee stability in the area and reaffirm the key principle of freedom of navigation.
