First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska visited the Volyn Regional Medical Association for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood. This healthcare facility provides specialized multidisciplinary care to women and children, including internally displaced persons.

"I am visiting this Center at a time when the Day of Joint Action is taking place across the country, including here in Volyn. It is important to know that this Medical Association has become a place of such daily joint action in the fight for the mental health of the region's residents - both young and adult. Because here, using all their strength and knowledge, they treat not only the body but also the soul," said Olena Zelenska.

At the end of last year, a Mental Health Center began operating at the facility. Its multidisciplinary team provides care for children with mental disorders, addresses depressive and anxiety conditions, works with adaptation and post-traumatic stress disorders, diagnoses early neurodevelopmental disorders, and refers patients to specialists in corrective care and rehabilitation.

The First Lady noted that this year, a School of Superheroes will also open at the medical facility, allowing children to continue their education while undergoing long-term treatment.

In addition, Olena Zelenska visited Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, the leading institution in the region for the number of students studying psychology.

The university is also home to a Mental Health Center that provides advanced training for professionals working with military personnel and their families, as well as in child and adolescent psychotherapy. Additionally, the center offers psychology training for teachers and emergency responders.

"Ukraine needs psychologists - especially now, as we endure daily stress due to the hostile invasion. But it is also vital to raise psychological awareness among people in other professions," the President's wife concluded.
