Full closure scheduled on NB I-29/I-35 for overhead sign truss inspections, 6 a.m.-6 p.m., Dec. 6

REMINDER: Phased full closure of NB I-29/I-35 in Clay County from Armour Rd. to Vivion Rd. (U.S. 69)

CLAY COUNTY - MoDOT Kansas City will make the following closures for overhead sign inspections. Work will be completed in two phases from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6:

The following closures will take place on Saturday, Dec. 6 in two phases:

  • Full closure of NB I-29/I-35 at Armour Rd. (MO 210) to just past the NB I-29/I-35 split. This includes the closure of the Parvin Rd on-ramp to I-29/I-35.

* There will not be a signed detour. Motorists traveling on NB I-29/I-35 are encouraged to use Armour Rd. (MO 210) to navigate around the closure.

  • Full closure of NB I-35 from the I-29/I-35 split to NE Vivion Rd. (U.S. 69) as well as various NB I-35 on-ramp closures
  • Full closure of the ramp from SB I-29 to NB I-35

*NB I-29 will remain open for motorists to navigate around the closure.

There will be no signed detours around these closures. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, find an alternate route, and be vigilant of work in the area.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and be vigilant of work in the area. All work is weather permitting. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short-term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
