Student writing competition:Twenty-Five Years of the SCO Partnership for a Sustainable Future
The SCO Secretariat is holding a contest among undergraduate and MA students from SCO countries for the best article marking the 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
The aim of the contest consists of promoting SCO studies and research among the younger generation.
The Secretariat is inviting undergraduate and MA students to submit monographic articles in Chinese, Russian or English.
Contestants are free to choose a specific topic for their article that aligns with the contest's overall theme: Twenty-Five Years of the SCO Partnership for a Sustainable Future.
Formed by SCO Secretariat officials, a dedicated council will oversee efforts to prepare and hold the contest, while carrying out its duties based on the principles of objectivity, independence, and professional competence. The council will review the submissions and select one winner from each SCO member state.
Winners will receive commendation letters from the SCO Secretary-General that will be sent through diplomatic channels and the national coordinators of the SCO member states or the embassies of the SCO member states accredited in the People's Republic of China.
The winners' profiles and articles may be published on the official website of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
Participants need to fill in a personal information form (Annex 1) and an application (Annex 2) to support their submission.
Participants should send their submissions, consisting of an article that meets the requirements in Annex 3, the personal information form, a photo, and the application, via email at
[email protected]. Email subject should be "Article Contest marking the 25th anniversary of the SCO."
Submissions are open through 20 May 2026.
The winners will be announced on the SCO Day on 15 June 2026.
