Barr Votes for America First National Security Bill to Boost Pay for Troops and Eliminate DEI from the Military

Washington, D.C.- Today, U.S. Congressman Andy Barr (R-KY) voted in favor of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This landmark legislation delivers a 3.8% pay raise for America's service members, eliminates politically driven mandates in the military, and restores a merit-based culture focused on readiness and national security. The bill also secures continued funding for border protection, institutes critical spending reforms, and strengthens U.S. deterrence against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

"I'm proud to support this legislation because it advances President Trump's America First agenda and restores the military's core mission of putting America's security first," said Congressman Barr. "Under the President's leadership, we are removing the radical left's DEI and ESG mandates from the military, delivering well-deserved pay raises for our troops, and strengthening our deterrence against the Chinese Communist Party."

The NDAA also permanently codifies $20 billion in Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) cuts that Congressman Barr championed as a member of the Congressional DOGE Caucus. It also eliminates DEI programs at the U.S. Department of War (DOW), ends climate-related initiatives at DOW, and advances numerous reforms Congressman Barr has long supported in previous defense authorization bills.

Finally, the NDAA reinforces President Trump's peace through strength agenda by ensuring a fully equipped, highly capable fighting force and advancing the President's Golden Dome initiative to deter against adversaries.
