Portland, OR - Democratic Party of Oregon Chair Nathan Soltz issued the following statement in response to Donald Trump's rambling, borderline-incoherent public address, in which he again claimed - without presenting any evidence - that mail-in ballots are "inherently corrupt":

"Tonight's address made clear that Donald Trump is once again actively working to undermine free and fair elections before voters have the opportunity to hold him and his fellow MAGA Republicans accountable this November.

"Donald Trump isn't trying to earn votes-he's trying to discredit the election before Americans even cast their ballots. Trump ally Christine Drazan needs to stop dodging the question and tell Oregonians whether she stands with our proven vote-by-mail system or with Donald Trump's conspiracy theories.

"In contrast, Oregon Democrats are fighting to protect our elections and ensure that every voter has the opportunity to have their voice heard in the upcoming election. Oregonians are fortunate to have Democratic leaders like Tina Kotek, Tobias Read, and Dan Rayfield, who are fighting his anti-democratic attacks at every turn."
