Iowa City Senior Center Commission seeking applicants

The City of Iowa City is seeking applications from Johnson County residents living outside of Iowa City limits to serve as an at-large member on the Iowa City Senior Center (ICSC) Commission.

The Senior Center Commission advises the City Council on matters related to the ICSC, including programming, community engagement, and long-term planning to support older adults in the region.

The at-large position ensures representation from the broader Johnson County community and reflects the Senior Center's regional impact and partnerships.

Commissioners serve in a volunteer capacity and attend regular meetings, typically held monthly. Members provide input on policy, strategic priorities, and initiatives that promote lifelong learning, wellness, and social connection for adults aged 50 and better.

Applicants should demonstrate an interest in community service, public engagement, and issues impacting older adults.

Interested individuals may apply online at icgov.org/apply.

For more information about the commission, visit icgov.org/senior or contact Senior Center Coordinator LaTasha DeLoach at 319-356-5220.
