Tuolumne County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be re-opening eastbound State Route 108 (Sonora Pass) at Kennedy Meadows as of 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 7, 2026. Our Caltrans Long Barn & Sonora Junction maintenance crews are clearing the roadway of ice and debris from this past weather event to safely reopen the highway for the traveling public.
Caltrans urges motorists to still use caution while driving the Sierra Mountain pass routes and watch for icy road surfaces in the overnight and early morning hours.
