Minister Loewen will reaffirm Alberta's conservation leadership at the congress by engaging directly in global discussions on biodiversity and nature-based solutions. The minister will meet with international partners to gain insights into emerging trends and innovative practices that shape natural resource strategies and land management.
The event is hosted by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and brings together conservation professionals, government agencies, Indigenous leaders, scientists, youth and NGOs to advance biodiversity policy and practice. The congress will be held from Oct. 9 to15 in Abu Dhabi and will include a forum, exhibitions and a member's assembly.
