Rep. Wied Secures $12.4 Million for Northeast Wisconsin

WASHINGTON - Rep. Tony Wied secured $12.4 million for Community Funding Projects in Northeast Wisconsin with yesterday's passage of the final appropriations bills to fund the government for FY26.
"My number one goal in Washington is to make life better for the great people of Wisconsin's 8th District, and I am proud to have secured these critical funds to help do just that," said Rep. Wied. "From water treatment projects in Kaukauna and Suamico to Austin Straubel Airport renovations and a new fire station in Green Bay, these federal dollars will be used to positively impact families across Northeast Wisconsin."
For the first time since 1997, the House of Representatives finally returned to regular order on Thursday by passing the last of the 12 appropriations bills needed to fund the government for the fiscal year. These bills included funding for Defense, Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Health and Human Services, Labor, Education, and Homeland Security.
The Community Funding Projects that were included in the bills are as follows:
  • $5 million for the Green Bay Metro Fire Department to build a new station.
  • $4 million for Green Bay Austin Straubel Airport to upgrade taxiways and other rehabilitation projects.
  • $1 million for the Village of Suamico's water infrastructure improvement project.
  • $1 million for water treatment systems for the City of Kaukauna.
  • $1 million for Infusion Center renovations at Bellin Health Oconto Hospital.
  • $425,000 for the Appleton Police Department.
The Senate is slated to vote on the appropriations package next week. Upon passage and President Trump's signature, the funds will be delivered to our communities, and these important projects can begin to move forward.
