Georgia DOT awards $72.1 million in contracts for November
ATLANTA - The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) awarded a total of 22 projects valued at approximately $72.1 million at the monthly State Transportation Board meeting held in November. Contracts were awarded to the lowest qualified bidders on December 5, 2025.
The largest single investment resurfacing project, valued at approximately $12.5 million, proposes 33.960 miles of milling, inlay, slab replacement, plant mix resurfacing and pavement markings upgrades on I-20/State Route (SR) 402 beginning at SR 83 and extending west of SR 44 in Greene and Morgan counties. This contract and nine other resurfacing projects total approximately $48 million and represent 66 percent of the total funds awarded.
The largest construction contract, valued at approximately $5.8 million, proposes 0.387 mile of construction of a bridge and approaches on Old Quitman Highway (County Road 136) over CSX Transportation #637487Y in Lowndes County. This contract and six other construction projects total approximately $20.4 million and represent 28 percent of the total funds awarded.
The largest bridge rehabilitation contract, valued at approximately $1.6 million, proposes rehabilitation at various locations in Bartow County. This contract and one other bridge rehabilitation project total approximately $2.5 million and represent 4 percent of the total funds awarded.
There are three safety contracts from the announcement totaling approximately $1.3 million which represent the remaining 2 percent of the total funds awarded. The largest project is valued at $771,114.76 and proposes pavement marking upgrades and shoulder rehabilitation on various county roads in Chattahoochee County.
The Award Announcement list for November (includes rejected and or deferred projects). Bids for Design-Bid-Build projects were received on November 21, and contracts were awarded to the lowest qualified bidders on December 5, 2025.
The November awards bring the total construction contracts for Fiscal Year 2026, which began on July 1, 2025, to approximately $1.6 billion. This total includes TIA, Design-Bid-Build, and locally administered projects. Fiscal Year 2026 will conclude June 30, 2026.
