U.S. and Canadian Tractor and Combine Sales See August Decline

According to new data from AEM, U.S. sales of agricultural tractors decreased 8% in August 2026 compared to the year before. U.S. sales of combines also dropped in the same period, ending the month 4% lower than August 2025.

Canadian sales of agricultural tractors declined 10.9% in August 2026, while combine sales declined 42.6% compared to the year before.

"The agricultural equipment market continues to reflect the challenging environment facing farmers today," said Curt Blades, AEM Senior Vice President. "Unresolved trade questions are adding another layer of uncertainty at a time when producers are preparing for harvest and making important decisions about their operations, equipment needs and long-term competitiveness."

The Ag Tractor and Combine reports are released every month and can be found on the AEM Market Share Statistics page. The U.S. report can be downloaded from this page, while the Canadian report is available for download here.
