New Ultra High Performance Concrete Mixes Cut Costs While Attaining Excellent Performance With Local Materials

Posted: Jan 14, 2025

Researchers at Utah State University have developed a non-proprietary ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) mix that will be at least 50% less expensive than proprietary mixes. Overall, the developed locally sourced mix evaluated in this project exhibited excellent mechanical, durability, and volume stability properties. This lower-cost mix uses local materials and will allow for more widespread use of UHPC, which is valued for its high performance and durability in transportation infrastructure projects.
