On December 19, Permanent Representative to the UN and Other International Organizations in Vienna Ambassador LI Song hosted Dr. Robert Floyd, Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) Organization, along with his spouse and the Provisional Technical Secretariat (PTS) team, at the Permanent Mission of China in Vienna. The two sides exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation between China and the PTS.
Dr. Floyd highly commended the outcomes of his visit to China in October and expressed gratitude for China's constructive role in facilitating the consensus decision on his reappointment. He affirmed his commitment to advancing cooperation between the PTS and China to new heights during his second term.
Ambassador Li congratulated Dr. Floyd on his reappointment and reiterated China's readiness to continue enhancing pragmatic cooperation with the Executive Secretary and the PTS, with a view to promoting the objectives and goals of the CTBT, and further promoting the International Monitoring System and the International Data Centre network to better serve the sustainable development needs of developing countries, and fostering common progress in global development efforts.
