On June 10, 2025, Ambassador Cui Aimin met with Anders Wijkman, board member of the Aurora Borealis Foundation, among others. They exchanged views on cooperation in addressing global climate change and environmental challenges, and promoting green and sustainable development.
Ambassador Cui emphasized that China attaches great importance to addressing global climate and environmental challenges. He noted that China is actively and prudently advancing its efforts to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality, while steadfastly pursuing green and low-carbon transition. Ambassador Cui highlighted Sweden's rich experience and advanced technologies in green and sustainable development, expressing the hope that China and Sweden, as well as China and Europe more broadly, will deepen policy exchanges and practical cooperation. He also welcomed the foundation to play an active role in promoting dialogue and exchange.
Mr. Wijkman expressed its appreciation and recognition of China's achievements in enhancing ecological conservation and its vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind. He stated that China is an important force in global climate and environmental governance, and conveyed his willingness to further promote dialogue, exchanges and cooperation, integrate Eastern and Western wisdom to jointly address climate and environmental challenges, and contribute to sustainable development.
