Multi-Vehicle Accident Closes Route 4 in Kingsbury

Date: November 4, 2025

Location: State Route 4, Kingsbury, NY

Case # 2025-023204

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating a serious four-vehicle crash that happened Tuesday on State Route 4 in the Town of Kingsbury.

Roger Mattison, of Fort Ann, was driving a 2017 GMC south on Route 4 when Elizabeth Bushman, of Whitehall, driving a 2016 Chevrolet, attempted to pass him in the northbound lane. During the attempt, Bushman's vehicle hit a 2021 Ford driven by Adam Rushkoski, of Fort Edward. Bushman's car then struck Mattison's vehicle, causing it to leave the road and roll over.

A fourth driver, Rodney Miller, of Sicklerville, NJ, was traveling behind the two vehicles in a 2020 Hyundai. Miller swerved off the west side of the road trying to avoid the crash.

Emergency crews from several agencies responded. Albany Med Flight was called and airlifted one patient. Bushman was taken to Glens Falls Hospital, while Mattison and Rushkoski were transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment.

No tickets have been issued at this time. The investigation is still ongoing.

State Route 4 was temporarily closed while emergency first responders worked at the scene.
