University Foundations is accepting proposals for new and renewing 100-level courses this fall. Approved courses will be offered at least annually during the upcoming three-year cycle: Fall 2027 through Summer 2030.
Boise State's 100-level University Foundations courses are meant to introduce entering students to college and college-level inquiry, helping them become more active and expert learners as they investigate and communicate about important ideas that affect everyone. Every year, University Foundations offers over 30 100-level UF courses, each focused on a different thematic topic designed to spark the curiosity of college freshmen: from Shakespeare to capitalism to the search for extraterrestrial life.
Interested faculty members should consult with their college, then complete and submit a proposal questionnaire for a new or renewing course in Fall 2026.
The proposal questionnaire and further information about the proposal process can be found on the University Foundations website.
Submissions are due on Oct. 14, 2026. Questions? Faculty can learn more about University Foundations and the proposal process at a September 2026 information session or by contacting University Foundations ([email protected]) to schedule an individual meeting.
