Students from Commonwealth University celebrated Read Across America with the students of W.W. Evans Elementary School in the Bloomsburg Area School District on March 6.

University juniors enrolled in Cheryl Latorre's Classroom Management and Child Guidance course worked with all elementary students to help lead activities celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday and the Read Across America initiative. In addition, students from Dr. Stutzman's science class will conduct hands-on science lessons and experiments throughout the day. Principal Guy Moses coordinated the event to ensure that all W.W. Evans students had the opportunity to participate in the celebration.

Throughout the day, elementary students rotated through a variety of stations designed to promote reading, creativity, and hands-on exploration. Activities will include an "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" writing and goal-setting activity, the creation of Dr. Seuss-themed headbands, and additional literacy-based crafts and writing experiences. Students will also participate in interactive science experiments connected to Dr. Seuss themes, encouraging them to make predictions, observe results, and think critically while exploring scientific concepts.
