May Cultural Meal Series with Dining at WWU

Dining at WWU is celebrating culture, history, and community through food with their monthly Cultural Meal Series, featuring special menus in honor of Jewish American Heritage Month, Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Heritage Month, and Cinco de Mayo.

These limited-time meals highlight culinary traditions tied to each celebration and reflect Dining at WWU's commitment to inclusion, education, and connection through shared dining experiences. All events are open to students, faculty, and staff and will be offered at select campus dining locations.

Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Heritage Month

To honor Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Heritage Month, Dining at WWU will showcase dishes inspired by the diverse culinary traditions of API Desi communities, highlighting the breadth of flavors and cultural influences represented across Asia and the Pacific Islands with menus inspired by the cookbook "To Asia, With Love: Everyday Asian Recipes and Stories From the Heart" by Hetty McKinnon.

Jewish American Heritage Month

In recognition of Jewish American Heritage Month, Dining at WWU will feature culturally inspired menu items from the cookbook "Honey Cake & Latkes: Recipes from the Old World by the Auschwitz-Birkenau Survivors" that celebrate Jewish food traditions and their impact on American cuisine. Guests also have the chance to win a copy of the cookbook!

Dining at WWU will also celebrate Cinco de Mayo with special menu offerings inspired by Mexican cuisine, marking the historic event and its cultural significance through vibrant, flavorful dishes.

Other News: Recharge at the Register promotion extended

Dining at WWU has extended its popular Recharge at the Register promotion, giving the campus community more time to earn bonus Dining Dollars when recharging in person at select dining locations.

Recharge at the Register allows guests to add Dining Dollars directly at the register-no online login required-while receiving extra value that can be used across campus. Dining Dollars offer perks year-round, including tax-free purchases and convenient tap-and-pay access using a Western ID.
