Animal Welfare Extends Free Pet Adoptions Through Nov. 1

The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare has extended free adoptions until Saturday, Nov. 1, following the success of the shelter's recent Howl-o-Ween event.

Adoption fees will be waived for all dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens at the shelter until Nov 1. A $15 licensing fee will be applied to all adoptions for Escambia County residents. To see a full list of adoptable pets in Escambia County, visit 24petconnect.com.

"We had a great show of support from our community during Howl-o-Ween," Animal Welfare Director John Robinson said. "During the event, 27 pets found new homes with their forever families. We still have some amazing pets who are waiting to go to their new homes, and we encourage anyone who wants to make a difference in the life of a shelter animal to come out and meet our adoptable pets."

The Escambia County Animal Welfare and Adoption Center is located at 200 W. Fairfield Drive. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, noon to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
