South Burlington Resident Charged with Prohibited Conduct

The Attorney General's Office today announced that Maria Trudeau, 31, of South Burlington, Vermont, was arraigned on one count of misdemeanor prohibited conduct. The charge, filed in Addison County, stems from an alleged incident that occurred in Salisbury, Vermont, and was investigated by the Vermont State Police.

Ms. Trudeau pleaded not guilty at the arraignment today, which was held remotely in Vermont Superior Court, Chittenden Unit, Criminal Division. The Court, Judge Robert Katims presiding, ordered conditions of release prohibiting Ms. Trudeau from drinking alcohol and from contacting the victim or witnesses.

The Attorney General's Office emphasizes that individuals charged with a crime are legally presumed innocent until their guilt is proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
