DGA Chair Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear released the following statement on Gina Hinojosa securing the Democratic nomination for governor in Texas:

"Congratulations to Gina Hinojosa on becoming the Democratic nominee for governor of Texas. A native of the Rio Grande Valley, Gina is a fighter who has never been afraid to take on the status quo when it fails working families in Texas. Gina first ran - and won - a school board seat when her son's school was threatened with closing and as a legislator has fearlessly stood up to the corruption in Austin. Gina is running to strengthen public schools, end the culture of no-bid contracts, and build an economy where everyone has a fair shot. After decades of one-party rule, Gina is fighting to finally put state government back on the side of Texas workers and families."
