The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that roadway excavation and drainage will be performed on Route 2 in Colchester. This work is scheduled to occur on Monday, May 18 and be completed on Monday, June 1, 2026. The project, 0028-0207, consists of shoulder reconstruction operations.
CTDOT Project No. 0028-0207 was awarded to Empire Paving at a cost of $30,922,404.30 on December 21,2025 and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2027. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
There will be ramp closures on Route 2 at Exit 25 from Monday, May 18 to Monday, June 1, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Traffic control signing patterns and State Troopers will guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
