(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Ned Lamont today announced that the Connecticut Governor's Residence will be open to the public for tours from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, as part of Connecticut Open House Day-the annual statewide tourism event encouraging residents and visitors to explore local tourism, historical, and cultural attractions.
There is no admittance fee and tickets are not needed. Volunteer tour guides will be on hand throughout the day offering visitors tours of the building. The residence is ADA accessible.
Located at 990 Prospect Avenue in Hartford, the Connecticut Governor's Residence is a state-owned building that serves as a site for many official functions of the governor. Built in 1909, the house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has served as a residence for every sitting Connecticut governor since 1945.
On Connecticut Open House Day, artwork will be displayed in the residence that is on loan from the New Britain Museum of American Art and the Wadsworth Museum. Additionally, a dining room table set will be on loan from The Weekend Home, a small business offering new and antique home furnishings located in Avon. Floral arrangements will be generously provided at no cost to the state by the West Hartford Garden Club, the Garden Club of Hartford, and Elizabeth Park. Visitors will also be provided with ice cream generously donated by Oak Ridge Dairy, a small business located in Ellington.
Parking is available along Belknap Road, directly across the street from the residence. There is no parking available on the grounds. All items such as bags, briefcases, and packages will be subject to security inspection.
