Secretary-General of ASEAN to welcome the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat

Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, will welcome H.E.Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat, on 11 December 2025. The visit will include a Policy Speech by H.E. Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, an Interface with the Secretary-General of ASEAN and the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR), presentation of the Icon of Timor-Leste to ASEAN as well as a tree planting ceremony, among others.

The visit will reflect Timor-Leste's steadfast commitment to ASEAN's shared values and aspirations, as ASEAN continues to strengthen its collective efforts to promote regional peace, stability, and prosperity. It will also highlight Timor-Leste's historic admission as the eleventh Member State of ASEAN and underscore its commitment to contributing meaningfully to the work of ASEAN, particularly in advancing ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future.
