President Shane Reeves
Today, I am deeply honored to officially begin my service as the 29th President of the University of Wyoming!
My family and I are incredibly grateful for the warm welcome we have received. I also want to extend my sincere thanks to former President Ed Seidel for his exceptional grace and support throughout this transition.
The University of Wyoming opens doors. For generations, it has changed lives through education and pushed knowledge forward through research. UW is a point of pride for this state and beyond; you feel it every time our Cowboys and Cowgirls compete. What has impressed me most are the people - faculty, staff and students, deeply committed to this place and to one another. That commitment is the foundation we build on.
In the weeks ahead, my priority is simply to listen and learn. I want to hear your perspectives and understand your aspirations for UW's future. By honoring our rich traditions while boldly embracing new ideas, I am confident that we will create an even brighter future for this remarkable institution. What we can accomplish together is boundless.
Finally, as our nation celebrates its historic 250th anniversary this week, I join all Wyomingites in expressing gratitude for our shared heritage. I encourage everyone to step away from work this holiday weekend to relax, recharge and enjoy our beautiful state.
Thank you for welcoming Kimberly and me into the Cowboy family. I look forward to the impactful work we will accomplish together. Now, go enjoy the firework shows and have a wonderful Fourth of July!
Go Pokes!
Sincerely,
Shane Reeves, President
