Sacramento County False Alarm Program

The County of Sacramento and the City of Rancho Cordova announced today the New and improved program to reduce false alarm calls. The Sacramento Sheriff's Office responds to approximately 32,000 alarm calls per year. On average 98% of these calls are false. Reducing the rate of false alarms will allow officers to respond more efficiently to actual emergencies. The Sheriff's Alarm Bureau enforces the Sacramento County Alarm Ordinance and the Rancho Cordova Municipal Code.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office contracted CentralSquare (CryWolf) to administer the false alarm program. All current permits managed by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office will continue to be maintained through CryWolf. For all new accounts, you may register using the link provided below.

Through a dedicated website created and managed by CryWolf, residents, and businesses will register their alarms, as required by the Sacramento County Alarm Ordinance established in 1986. The program will allow residents and businesses to register alarm systems, pay fees, update account information, and view all false alarm incidents remotely. CryWolf will now also manage alarm correspondence, invoices, and a dedicated website to help maximize compliance, and engagement among the public, and streamline the process for residents. This change will take effect October 1, 2024.
