Lakewood residents are invited to share photos of their patriotic decorations as the community gets ready to celebrate America's 250^th anniversary.

Show your love for Lakewood and our country by decorating your home, front yard, car, bike, stroller, wagon or pretty much anything you'd like to dress up in red, white and blue and take photos to share.

Get decked out in your coolest American-themed clothing and take a selfie.

Got an artist in the family? Snap pictures of their best USA-themed stars and stripes sidewalk chalk art.

How to participate

Use the City's online photo submission form to upload up to three photos and give permission for the City to share selected photos on social media, the website or other City communication channels.

Only photos submitted through the online form may be selected for use in City communications.

The deadline for submissions is Thursday, July 2.

Join the celebration on social media

On Instagram, post your photo on your page using #LakewoodCA250 and tag @lakewoodcity.

On Facebook, watch for the City's photo campaign post and tell us how you're celebrating America250 in the comments.

Guidelines and details

• Must be a Lakewood resident to participate.
• Please submit only photos you took or have permission to share (minimum 2MB).
• Professional, watermarked and/or copyrighted images are not permitted.
• Only photos submitted through the online form will be considered for use in City communications.
• By submitting photos, participants give permission for the City to use the photo in City communications, including the City website, social media, email, newsletters, printed materials and other public information channels.
• Submission does not guarantee that a photo will be featured.
