Optimum Invests $6 Million to Strengthen Network in Lubbock, Texas

LUBBOCK, TX (August 28, 2026) - Optimum, a leading provider of internet, mobile, and TV services, today announced the completion of a $6 million investment to strengthen its network in Lubbock - delivering faster, more reliable connectivity for residents, businesses, and key community institutions.

As part of this investment, Optimum built an approximately 100-mile fiber ring that powers the backbone of its local network. This upgrade enhances performance across the city, supporting residential neighborhoods, small businesses, fire stations, and essential public facilities with greater speed, reliability, and resilience.

For local businesses, the enhanced network provides the speed and scalability needed to support day-to-day operations, cloud applications, and future growth. For residents, it means a better online experience - smoother streaming, faster downloads, and more reliable connections for work, school, and everyday use across multiple devices.

"Strong digital infrastructure is essential for attracting investment, supporting local businesses, and keeping our community connected," said Councilwoman Christy Martinez-Garcia. "This investment in Lubbock will benefit all of our residents, especially our children who will now be better equipped to compete in today's high-tech world."

"Reliable connectivity is essential to how people live and work today," said Amanda Seabaugh, Vice President, General Manager of Optimum Texoma and West Pac. "This investment strengthens our network in Lubbock and ensures we're delivering the fast, dependable service our customers count on every day."

To support the local community, Optimum will present the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lubbock with a $5,000 technology grant. The investment will help modernize the Club's computer lab through new technology upgrades and refreshed learning spaces, creating an engaging environment where members can build valuable digital and STEM skills.

Earlier this week, Optimum presented Bayless Elementary with a $10,000 grant to expand STEM learning opportunities for students. The school plans to use the funding to host a STEM Family Engagement Night in the spring, launch an after-school robotics program and provide hands-on science lab equipment for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Optimum continues to invest in its network to expand capacity, improve reliability, and deliver better customer experiences across the communities it serves.
