Denver Opens New Pickleball Courts at Rosamond Park

This week, Denver Parks & Recreation, joined by City Council President Diana Romero Campbell, celebrated the opening of three brand-new pickleball courts in Rosamond Park. The new pickleball courts are part of the third and final phase of the three-phase project to improve the park.

"I'm thrilled about the new pickleball courts at Rosamond Park", said Council President Romero Campbell. "Southeast Denver deserves spaces like this where people can come together, stay active, and build stronger connections. I'm proud that we're investing in a place that will bring our community together for years to come".

Previous phases of the project included the replacement of the existing tennis courts, the addition of park lighting and benches, and a brand-new playground and basketball court. The footprint of the play area was expanded to include new play features for all ages.

The project also introduced resilient landscaping to the park and transitioned an area near Goldsmith Gulch from turf to native landscaping.

Rosamond Park improvements were funded through Elevate Denver and RISE Bonds as well as DPR capital funds. As the sport continues to grow in popularity, pickleball in Denver has become a popular pastime. DPR continues to expand its pickleball offerings throughout the city, adding 5 new pickleball courts to the Lowry Sports Complex earlier this year, raising the total number of outdoor pickleball courts in the city to 52.

"We've seen a tremendous desire for pickleball in the last few years, and that shows no signs of slowing down," said DPR Executive Director Jolon Clark. "We are excited to offer more options for residents to enjoy this growing sport and ensure our recreation system is keeping up with the needs of our city".
