TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Benson Canal Bridge Remains Closed Eastbound on Morrison Road

The City of New Orleans reminds residents of the bridge closure at the Benson Canal eastbound on Morrison Road. This closure will remain in effect until further notice.

The closure is a precautionary measure to ensure public safety after the City assessed the structural condition of the bridge. The bridge will be replaced as part of the Morrison Road Project, which is scheduled to go to bid in early summer of this year.

Drivers traveling eastbound on Morrison Road are advised to detour at Crowder Boulevard and use the I-10 Service Road or Hayne Boulevard. For now, two-way traffic will be allowed on the eastbound side of Morrison Road between Bundy Road and the Benson Canal Bridge, but only for residents who live on the south side of Morrison Road.
