SOUTH BANGKA -- Efforts to create a safe and comfortable environment for the community continue to be strengthened through collaboration between the private sector and local government. As part of this commitment, PT TIMAH Tbk has provided assistance for the construction of a Neighborhood Security Post (Pos Kamling) in Bencah Village, South Bangka Regency.
The assistance, handed over through the Bencah Village Government at the Bencah Village Office on Friday (June 26, 2026), is part of PT TIMAH's Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSR) program aimed at supporting social development in the company's operational areas.
Through this program, PT TIMAH continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting local communities by implementing initiatives that provide direct benefits, including improving public safety and strengthening community solidarity through the establishment of Neighborhood Security Posts.
Previously, the company had also provided sacrificial animals for Eid al-Adha, supported various community social activities, and implemented empowerment programs tailored to the needs of communities within its operational areas.
Chairman of the Bencah Village Consultative Body (BPD), Hardiles, expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH's assistance. According to him, the Neighborhood Security Post will be built in the Bencah Village Market area, a strategic location that will enhance neighborhood surveillance while helping protect village assets.
"Alhamdulillah, Bencah Village has remained relatively safe so far. With the construction of this Neighborhood Security Post, we hope our efforts to maintain public safety will become even more effective," he said.
He explained that the existing security post is still a simple structure and has not been able to adequately support neighborhood patrol activities. The assistance from PT TIMAH will be used to build a more permanent Neighborhood Security Post that can serve the community for years to come.
"We are truly grateful for PT TIMAH's support. This assistance is greatly needed, and we hope it will provide significant benefits for the people of Bencah Village," he said. (*)
