Newton County to update Comprehensive Transportation Plan
Newton County's Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) will update plans completed in 2008 and 2017 and to update past priorities and help guide the county's transportation needs through 2050. The plan will assess existing and future transportation conditions and needs leading to the development of recommended policies and transportation projects.
The purpose of the CTP is to identify long-range transportation strategies, projects and programs that meet anticipated mobility and accessibility countywide needs.
What will the CTP accomplish?
The outcome of the Newton County CTP will be to document:
- Existing and future transportation conditions and needs
- Proposed transportation projects including costs and funding sources
- Action items to implement the recommendations programmed through 2050
