On Saturday, January 18, 2025, at approximately 7:15 AM, officers assigned to the E-13 (Jamaica Plain), B-3 (Mattapan), and Citywide Drug Control Units arrested 26-year-old Edwin German and 33-year-old Alberis Cruz, both of Dorchester, on drug and firearm charges following the execution of a search warrant at 16 Wildwood Street, Dorchester.
At around 6:56 AM, Officers conducting pre-warrant surveillance observed Edwin German leaving the residence and driving away. Shortly after, they conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Theodore Street and Morton Street, informing German of the four search warrants obtained for him and his residence. During the stop, Officers learned that multiple individuals were inside the residence, along with a pit bull, which they were told was friendly.
Upon making entry to execute the warrant, one officer was attacked and bitten by the pit bull. The Officer managed to fend off the dog and retreat outside, where additional officers rendered aid and applied a tourniquet before Boston EMS arrived. The injured Officer was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Animal Control later responded to safely remove the dog, which had been secured in a room.
During the search, officers detained three additional individuals, including Alberis Cruz, and recovered the following:
Both men were arrested and are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on the following charges:
