The City's revamped online resource for submitting building plans or securing permits launches the morning of Monday, September 8. Plan Review and Tracking Version 2 Release 2 has been in development for approximately one year to benefit developers, contractors, and residents.
In advance of the software's launch, the following applications on the City website will be inaccessible from 7 pm on Friday, September 5, through the updated platform's launch on September 8:
Plan Review & Tracking
Plan Review Web Payments
Building Inspections Web Payments
Many City departments contributed to the update, most notably the Information Technology Department's Application Development team. The team incorporated internal and external feedback to build a tool that improves the City's ability to receive plan submissions and reviews. The updates make the process more intuitive, flexible, and user oriented. Users will continue to access the application through the City's Development Services webpage.
Specific updates to new software include:
A streamlined user password reset process that simplifies the experience while maintaining security.
The ability to change the email address associated with a user's Plan Review and Tracking account.
The ability for users to attach multiple documents at once to required responses.
Added search functionality on the application's "My Plans" and "Response Required" tabs.
A new "Are you sure?" pop-up box appears if a user clicks any button that would take them away from the submission process to prevent mistakenly losing progress while submitting a plan.
Improvements to the system email content.
Clearer and more detailed error messages.
Numerous speed improvements.
Improvements to the City's side of the application that increase efficiency.
These enhancements represent the second phase of a larger process to improve how the City interacts with customers' plans and permit requests. Future phases will further enhance the customer experience and adapt the City's systems to meet the community's changing needs.
