Many received high-dollar scholarships, including competitive, full-tuition awards, reflecting the district's commitment to preparing students for success. VISUALS: San Jacinto Elementary receives support for student wellness
In recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week, San Jacinto Elementary School was selected for a new partnership with Government Employees Health Association and DonorsChoose. During a campus visit, the school received a $5,000 donation from G.E.H.A to support classroom projects centered on students' mental health and wellness, providing resources such as physical education equipment, sensory tools, and student support materials.

Former W.T. White High School cheerleaders from the 1976-1977 varsity squad recently returned to campus to connect with the current 2026-2027 team, creating a special full-circle moment. The visiting alumni were welcomed with a personal performance of the fight song and shared stories from their time cheering 50 years ago. The event celebrated school pride and highlighted the lasting bond between generations of Longhorns.
