MACPAC Publishes June Report to Congress

The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) June report to Congress makes recommendations on care transitions for children and youth with special health care needs. MACPAC recommends:

  • States develop and implement strategies for transitions from pediatric to adult care
  • The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issue guidance on existing authorities to cover transitions of care
  • States collect and report data on who uses these services and how often they are used
  • CMS should require interagency agreements between state Medicaid agencies and Title V agencies

The report also includes chapters on residential behavioral health treatment for children, medication access for opioid use disorder, the program of all-inclusive care for the elderly, and home- and community-based services.
