July 12-13, 2025 Update: The City's contract provider, Republic Services, has confirmed that labor-related issues continue to impact waste collection services throughout Orange County, with routes still affected in Fullerton.
As a result, efforts remain focused on the highest-need locations to recover missed commercial pickups from earlier in the week, while also managing today's scheduled routes. Residential recovery is ongoing, with trash collection prioritized first, followed by green waste, and then recycling. Residents are advised to leave carts out and unobstructed until service is completed. Those in association communities should check with their property management for any specific guidance.
To assist the community during this disruption, residents may chose to utilize two temporary trash drop-off options:
801 W. Valencia Drive, Fullerton, CA
Open Saturday, July 12th - Sunday, July 13th. For the most up-to-date information on container availability, including hours of operation and capacity status, please refer to the City's official social media accounts.
2740 E. Coronado Street, Anaheim, CA
Open for residential waste drop-off. Please bring a Fullerton ID or utility bill for verification. This center is typically closed on Sundays. Please check the City's official social media accounts for any updates regarding special hours of operation on Sunday, July 13th.
Please note that bulky items will not be accepted at both of these locations. Please continue to schedule bulky item pick-ups directly with Republic Services.
Additional Reminders:
Street sweeping will continue to operate as scheduled.
Residents with alley collection are encouraged to use street parking as needed.
Notices of Violation for container placement and street sweeping parking enforcement are suspended during this time.
Automated robocalls from Republic Services will continue to be sent out to notify residents of potential delays.
These delays are tied to an ongoing union strike in the Boston area. While there is no strike occurring in Fullerton, some local Republic Services workers are picketing in solidarity with striking union members on the East Coast. Republic Services is actively working on contingency plans to restore full service in Fullerton as soon as possible.
The City understands the inconvenience and appreciates the community's continued patience and cooperation. We will continue to provide daily updates as new information becomes available.
For questions or concerns, please contact Republic Services directly at (714) 238-3300.
