28 April 2026

President John Dramani Mahama joined the Men's Ministry of the Ringway Assemblies of God Church to visit the Nsawam Medium Security Prison on Saturday to fellowship with inmates and donate essential items.

As part of their outreach, the Ministry presented items to support inmates' welfare. The items included 250 bags of rice, 50 bags of maize, 50 bags of gari, 50 bags of sugar, 30 gallons of cooking oil, 50 cartons of tomato paste, 50 cartons of spaghetti, and 50 boxes of sardines.

The visit featured a period of praise, worship, and ministration led by the Men's Ministry. In a sermon delivered to the inmates, the Head Pastor of the Ringway Assemblies of God Church, Reverend Benjamin Tettey, encouraged the inmates to remain hopeful despite their current circumstances. He urged them to embrace repentance, personal reform, and faith in Jesus Christ as a foundation for strength and spiritual renewal.

Addressing the inmates, President John Dramani Mahama spoke about the importance of compassion and the societal duty to care for those in incarceration. He pledged his support for improving the prison's sporting facilities to aid recreation and physical well-being. He also assured the inmates that the Lordina Foundation would provide support to address some of their specific health needs.

Following the fellowship, the delegation toured ongoing infrastructure projects at the Nsawam Prison. These included a 5,000-layer poultry facility and a new 800-capacity remand prison, both designed to enhance self-sufficiency and reduce congestion within the facilities.
