A quarter of EU citizens buy tickets online for events

With festivals and concerts filling up the summer calendar, many people are buying tickets to events online.

In 2025, 26.8% of people in the EU had purchased tickets online for events in the previous 3 months, prior to the annual survey on ICT usage in households and by individuals. This figure was up 3.8 percentage points (pp) compared with 2024.

Among the EU countries, Ireland had the highest share, with more than half of individuals having bought tickets online for events in the past 3 months (51.5%), ahead of the Netherlands (48.1%) and Denmark (47.9%). The lowest shares were found in Bulgaria (11.4%), Romania (12.6%) and Italy (14.2%).
