Knott Votes to Restore ICE and CBP Funding After 100 Days of Democrat Obstruction

WASHINGTON- Congressman Brad Knott (NC-13) issued the following statement after the House passed S. 2, the Secure America Act, a reconciliation bill that restores critical funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

"For years now, the Democrats have waged a reckless 'defund the police' crusade against our law enforcement officers. This latest shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security is simply their newest iteration of that effort. House Republicans ended over 100 days of Democrat obstruction by passing the Secure America Act and fully restoring ICE and Border Patrol funding, and I am proud to have assisted in the effort. With this funding, we will continue securing the homeland, enforcing immigration laws, and getting criminal illegal aliens off our streets and out of our country for good."
